Very cool place to snorkel! Amazing fish! To the right facing the ocean, near the volcanic rocks is more fish than over seen anywhere on the island. Must see place in Kona.
Be Careful though! I hear that the current is extremely strong if you choose to swim here.
Amazingly unique beach. This is not a good beach for swimming. The undertow is extremely strong here and the waves get pretty big. Awesome for some close ocean viewing. There is a short trail marked by white coral and rocks that you can check out too. The road down to the beach has a crazy steep grade - and that's coming from someone that lives in the mountains. Make sure your vehicle has good tires on it or you may spend more time at the bottom of the hill than you'd like.
This beach is absolutely beautiful. It is completely full of smooth black pebbles in a variety of sizes, they get smaller the closer to the water you get. The sound the waves make when they flow down the pebbles back into the ocean is purely delightful.
Great beach to swim. Has pebbles and larger rocks, no sand. At the bottom of a steep residential road so go down slow in low gear.
This is a nice private beach at the end of a neighborhood. Dark pebble sand and steep entrance to water.
