Great snorkeling with the Sea Quest crew. We saw dolphins and whales on the return trip too.
Plenty of sea urchins, bring proper water shoes and be careful where you step and put your hand.
Hike up and down takes about an hour one way, steep and strenuous, bring water, hiking boots, sunscreen, sun cap, wear long sleeve and long pants as there is lush vegetation on the trail.
Really great park, unfortunate that you have to go through high cost tour operators to see the area.
Plenty of mangose near the monument, they opened and got into our backpack and ate our food. Don't feed the wild animals!
Currents make it hard to get out of the water, there's no stairs from the monument.
The beach Bay next to the James cook monument is awesome clear water and different fish everywhere. Good place to snorkel. Two Ways of getting their. Hiking which is very demanding. Boat or kayak. But the place is worth it.
Stay safe and enjoy
Great snorkeling, plenty of fish, saw a turtle.
This is where you will see the monument to Captain Cook. Getting there is a bit of a hike. The trail itself is roughly 4 miles and is not for the faint of heart due to the fact that there is an elevation change of 1400 feet. One of the biggest attractions is snorkeling in the bay beside the monument. Be sure to pack a lunch and plenty of water as there are no facilities at the site itself.
